Hi! I am Aliya, the photographer and creator of Doghouse Pet Photography.
I am a Virginia native and lifelong animal lover. I grew up around every type of animal, spending day and night with my family at my father’s veterinary hospital in Springfield, Virginia. I have loved animals since day one, but my love grew beyond pets as I became older and fell in love with horses and other farm animals. To say animals are my life might be an understatement.
I take pride in being a dedicated animal rights advocate and am committed to the betterment of animal welfare all around the world. I currently have three dogs- a french bulldog named Ringo and two American Staffordshire Terrier mixes, Patti and Bruce. Adopting Patti and Bruce from local shelters has sparked a newfound passion about ending the negative stigma and breed bias towards bully breed dogs.
I studied at San Francisco Art Institute where I focused in Fine Art Photography and Experimental Film. I have had a deep love for photography ever since I was a child, and I have now found a way to combine my two passions. I love the community of Richmond, Virginia and the love the people have here for their animals.
